Healing Arts
Joshua began his journey of holistic healing in 1995 at the Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia Beach. He is a graduate of Amanda McMaine’s 200 hour Essence of Yoga Teacher Training program as well as Matthew Higdon’s 200 hour Subtle Power Yoga Teacher Training program. Joshua has facilitated a variety of self awareness and body mind integration exercises including; 10 years as group leader with Meditation for Stress Management for the Fayette County Drug Court Program; 8 years as instructor in Anatomy, Kinesiology, structural tissue integrative techniques, and range of motion bodywork with local massage therapy schools; 22 years sharing a variety of yoga classes as well as a variety of wellness workshops.
He has enjoyed working with the University of Kentucky SEC and NCAA aquatic teams as well as lifestyle athletes engaging in baseball, basketball, cheer, cycling (road/cross/mountain), dance, diving, football, golf, marathon, running, soccer, swimming, triathlon and volleyball. Joshua is experienced in facilitating the movement of the accumulation of
stress stored in the body. His bodywork focus is on the rehabilitation and treatment of injury, utilizing range of motion and structural tissue work.
Joshua leads weekly Slow Flow Yoga and Special Needs yoga classes at Centered as well as special needs classes with the Latitude Artist Community and Employment Solutions. He is passionate about assisting others in their journey to mental, physical, and spiritual health and has worked one on one with clients of Hospice, the VA and a variety.
He works really well with others.
"In my free time I enjoy hiking the Red River Gorge, cycling on a gravel bike, painting miniatures and photographing the human form."
Joshua's modalities include: Thai, Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Movement Re-Education, Chair Massage, Full Body Range of Motion.
